It’s not unheard of for high-performance computers to play every once in a while. Laser printers are one example of this. If a single part fails to work the way it is supposed to, anything that follows may also be a failure. Although major issues with laser printers are uncommon, there are occasions when this can happen, often due to the lack of toner.
One of the common Windows printer problems is a blotchy printer. It means that the page has toner smudges on it, which makes it difficult to read terms. Here’s how to troubleshoot the printer problem.
If it is a Leaking Cartridge
- Switch off the printer and remove the power cord.
- Remove the cartridge from the toner.
- Take a look at your printheads. If they’re clogged, it may be causing the problem. Wash with toner wipes, cloth, or tissue soaking with alcohol.
- Check how to hold the toner cartridge. See if you can reuse it, or if you need a replacement.
- Put the old or new toner cartridge in the printer.
- Plug the printer in and power it on.
- Please do a test print.
If the toner has Built Up on the Drum Unit
- Turn off the printer and pull out the power cord.
- Remove the drum unit from the printer and position it over a clean cloth to avoid stains or spills.
- When using a color laser printer, remove the block printer so that you know which drum unit needs to be cleaned. It is going to be clear from the hue of the blotches.
- Turn the drum unit around to find out where the toner was built.
- After you notice this, clean the surface with a swab until the residue has been extracted.
- Move the drum unit back to its position, and place it back in the printer.
- Plugin the printer and turn it on.
- Please do a test print.
If the Corona Wire has Failed
- Turn the printer off and pull out the power cord.
- Let the printer be in place for some time, so that the corona wire cools down.
- Take the drum out and place it on a clean, dry cloth.
- Wipe clean the wire of the corona. You just need to move the blue tab on either side for this. Don’t cross the wires when you’re doing that.
- Push the blue tab to the position.
- Move the drum device back to its position and place it back in the printer.
- Plugin the printer and turn it on.
- Do a test print to confirm the printer problems have been resolved.
