Printers are one of the advantages we’ve received from technology. These things can print anything from your e-tickets to multiple project reports. It’s great when a printer works, but sometimes problems can arise in the way it works. Below are some tips for how a printer can be fixed, which will not print the way it should be.
The problem sometimes boils down to overuse or underuse. If you don’t use your printer frequently enough, dried ink blocking the nozzles may be an issue. Overuse can lead to small things like paper clips that fall into and cause paper jams, on the other hand.
Choosing the Right Printer
It may sometimes happen that your printer does not print because you have a software that has the default ‘virtual printer’ set. When you hit Print, therefore, the item you want to show on paper is saved as a file.
Go to the Start menu and select Control Panel to see if this is the case. Go to Devices and Printers from there and find and right-click the right printer to make it default. Also, check if the printer status is set to Ready because if not, it could also be a problem.
Then make sure the right printer is chosen inside the system from which you print. This option will be available after you have given the print command.
You can use the printing troubleshooter provided by Microsoft for troubleshooting. Click the Fix It button, download it and run it. Follow the steps mentioned in the wizard afterwards. To troubleshoot from the Control Panel, go to Devices and Printers, right-click on the printer, and hit Troubleshoot.
Printing on your phone or tablet
Wi-Fi and AirPrint should power the printer if you are printing from your iOS computer. Notice that several printers still exist on the market, which does not have the superior alternative.
HandyPrint is a great option to turn the printer into an AirPrint printer when you print on your Mac. Printer Pro is another software for printing wireless printers directly.
To print from an Android phone or tablet to a PC-connected printer, install Cloud Print from the Google Play Store on your smartphone. Go to Advanced Settings and select Manage. Open Chrome on your Mac. Add the printer attached to the PC after that. Keep the PC and printer on, and you can print from your Android device.
