Paper Jam Issues-ty4

If the paper you feed into your computer printer to print jobs goes awry, then there is a moderate risk of paper jams happening. In most cases, when this happens, you won’t be able to print documents. In some cases, however, computer printers ignore the issue and carry on with the print job. The paper output you receive unfortunately is a crumbled mess, which means it is not suitable for use.

It is important to remember that most modern types of computer printers on the market typically include LED notification lights to alert users to a paper jam. So, watch for signs like this and try to clear the paper jams before you start printing documents. Here are a few quick steps you can take when a paper jam is in your computer printer.

Turn off the printer.

The first and most important thing you need to do is turn off your computer printer. It will help you ensure that you don’t get trouble with moving parts of the printer while you’re working inside the device. If you are using a new computer printer, this will also prevent additional heat from being generated and ensure that you are safe.

Troubleshooting Printer Issues

If you can not tell which of the printer doors leads to a paper jam, you will need to open or disable the input tray of your printer and follow the path to the output tray of the external computer. Make sure you open all the panels and doors you see along the way because they let you know where the paper jam is.

Pull out scraps and sheets of paper.

Once the door leading to the paper jam has been identified, you should check for paper scraps and paper sheets. If you find these sheets of paper, you will extract the paper carefully. You should take notice that it could cause serious harm to your computer printer if you roughly delete the documents.

After all three of these steps have been taken, close all panels and doors of your machine printer. Switch on the computer and perform a print test job to see whether the problem is solved. If not, contact a support technician for the printer to fix the issue.
