If the message continues after all jams have been cleared, the sensor or sensor lever can be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following : 1. Remove the jammed print media from the location specified. Check the entire paper path for other parts of the media along the path. 2. Open the top cover and close it to clear the message. 3. Check the sensors and flags on the paper path for proper operation.
13.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify that the paper tray is completely closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace feed and separator rollers. 4. Ensure that there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open the top cover and close it to clear the message. 6. Check for proper operation of the sensors and flags.
13.1 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-delay jam at paperfeed area. 1. Ensure that the paper trays are fully prepared and adjusted so that the media can be feed from the tray. The stack height of the media in the tray can need to be reduced. 2. Check the input area for obstructions, such as the path media. Check to see whether the registration assembly is broken or unseated. 3. Replace defective sensors or flags. 4. Verify that the media follows the specifications. 5. Check the pickup feed and separator rollers for unusual wear. Replace it as needed. 6. Rotate the media to 180 ° in the input tray and/or turn it over.
