- Right-click Print Spooler and choose Properties.
- In the Printer Spooler Properties dialog, click the Stop button below the Service Status button. If the service is stopped, click the Start button and click the OK button to confirm. This is going to restart the spooler service.
Configure the Printer to the Correct Port
For the printer to operate normally, it must be configured to the right printer port. To cross-check and change the printer port, follow the steps below.
- Press the Windows key to start the Start menu, and click the Control Panel to open the Start menu. Click Devices and Printers in the new window.
- Right-click on the printer icon in the Printers section and choose Printer Properties. Click the Change Properties button under the General button when it opens.
- Then navigate to the Ports tab of the Printer Properties tab. A list of ports can be found under this tab. You’ve got to put a tick mark in the checkbox next to the printer port. You should also check whether the port description is DOT4 or USB if the connection is USB. On the other hand, if the network connection is used, ensure that the network, IP, or WSD is included in the description. After selecting a printer port, click the Apply button.
- Then navigate back to the General tab and click the Print Test Page button to print the trial and confirm that the selected port is correct.
- You may have to repeat the steps until you have confirmed that the configurations you have used are correct.
Check the Printer Driver
If the printer driver is outdated, you may experience Windows printer problems, including an unsatisfactory error. To fix this issue, you need to upgrade the driver if it is not current or reinstall the driver if it is difficult. You can access the driver update from the printer’s official website. Make sure you have the correct printer driver for your Windows version and device settings. Try taking a test printout to see if the problem is fixed.
